Description

The document describes the value proposition of the network of African partners dedicated to achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC). It presents a network led by Africans for Africa, applying regional learning by drawing on global lessons to adapt solutions to national challenges. The approach is participatory and demand-driven, focusing on listening to countries, contextual adaptation and continuous learning rather than importing external solutions. The network is made up of partners with diverse skills – researchers, activists, movement builders and policy advisors – who combine theory and field experience to support national and community actors. Experiences cited include improving accountability for CSU in Benin and Burkina Faso, initiating a roadmap in Uganda, and commitments in Benin, Togo and Uganda. The text details a theory of change with internal activities, country support and regional actions, expected outputs, immediate results at twelve months and intermediate results beyond that. Activities cover the establishment of structures, the development of an action plan, fund-raising, technical assistance, national and regional advocacy, the facilitation of transnational exchanges and the constitution of a directory of African experts. The end results are the integration of CSU debates into national and regional policies, strengthened government accountability, concrete commitments and improved health outcomes as more people gain access to affordable, quality care on the African continent.
