Ouagadougou, June 03, 2022."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On<strong> June 03, 2022<\/strong>, a meeting to validate the hypotheses of the &#8220;Cost-effectiveness HVP vaccine in Burkina Faso&#8221; model was held in the meeting room of the Ministry of Health&#8217;s IT Services Department. <strong><em>Cost-effectiveness HVP vaccine in Burkina Faso<\/em><\/strong> &#8220;by the stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>The specific objectives of the meeting were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Present economic evaluation and disease modeling methods.<\/li>\n<li>Inform stakeholders of the rationale and proposed methods for assessing the cost-effectiveness of HPV in Burkina Faso<\/li>\n<li>Obtain stakeholder feedback on a proposed set of model input parameters, assumptions and uncertainty analyses.<\/li>\n<li>Agree on next steps and a proposed date for a dissemination\/final results workshop.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The meeting was chaired by the DPV. Its aim was to validate the model&#8217;s hypotheses in the basic scenario of the cost-effectiveness study on the introduction of the HPV vaccine in Burkina Faso. <\/p>\n<p>The DPV representative began by welcoming the 11 participants. After welcoming them, <strong>Dr Annick SIDIBE<\/strong> presented the context of the study, the structure of the project as a whole, the main methods used in the study and the UNIVAC model used to estimate the parameters. The participants, in particular those from the DPV, helped to confirm certain values introduced into the UNIVAC model.  <\/p>\n<p>Next, <strong>Dr J\u00f6el Arthur KIENDREBEOGO<\/strong> presented the approaches to economic evaluation and disease modeling (with reference to the <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.who.int\/iris\/bitstream\/handle\/10665\/329389\/WHO-IVB-19.10-eng.pdf\">WHO Guidelines<\/a>), and in particular the cost-effectiveness model used, and clarified the hypotheses employed in the study. The presentations lasted around 1 hour 30 minutes and helped participants to understand the study. <\/p>\n<p>At the end of the presentations, participants asked questions to help them understand aspects of the study. These included questions about the study&#8217;s target population, whether the investigators had the proportion of girls exposed to HPV in Burkina Faso. Did the study take sufficient care not to underestimate or overestimate the target population? In response to this question, the study investigators said that in the study, DALYs were used, and we had only estimated the HPV burden. The prevalence of HPV in the target population was not necessary.    <\/p>\n<p>Overall, the participants had a very good understanding of the study and really appreciated the approach that was used.
