MALARIA-FREE VILLAGE

Description

Malaria remains one of the biggest public health challenges in Burkina Faso, the leading cause of consultations, hospitalization and mortality in our health facilities. Faced with this reality, the Village sans paludisme project, launched in June 2022 by the PNLP in partnership with Endeavour Mining, marked a decisive step in the fight against this disease in the CSPS Dangouna health area.

This study report highlights the results obtained prior to the intervention: a general downward trend in the incidence of malaria, but with significant disparities between villages. These findings reinforce the relevance of an integrated, participatory approach, combining prevention, curative care, social communication and local capacity-building.

Beyond the figures, this project illustrates the power of community and institutional mobilization to transform hope into reality: a village, then a region, and tomorrow a malaria-free country.
