Review workshop on policies to combat gender-based violence in the workplace

As part of the implementation of Imarisha (gender-based violence in the workplace) activities, RESADE took part in a policy review workshop in Cape Town from October 6 to 10. The workshop was attended by stakeholders from the consortium’s three countries, Burkina Faso, Tanzania and South Africa.

Mainly attended by doctoral students involved in the project, the workshop was attended by principal investigators (PIs) and other key players in the consortium. Exchanges made it possible to: 1) build capacity and share experiences from policy document review; 2) systematically review policy documents collected at global, regional and national levels; 3) pilot and refine the policy document extraction tool as well as the semi-structured interview tool (KII); 4) perform an initial data extraction from policy documents at global, regional and national levels; 5) conduct a preliminary analysis and record descriptive details of the initial mapping and draft report; 6) develop an informed roadmap for ongoing data collection, management and analysis.

The workshop produced recommendations and a roadmap for the continuation of the project’s Work Package. This work should contribute to improving national policies in the countries concerned.
